Pear-Grapefruit Salad

Make this winter salad when grapefruit come to market and apples and pears are still at their peak.


Lettuce or spinach leaves
1 pear, cored, peeled and sliced
1 red grapefruit, peeled and cut into segments
1 apple, cored and cut in eighths
cup (85 g) red seedless grapes
2 tablespoons chopped pecans
4 teaspoons balsamic vinegar


Serves: 4


Arrange lettuce or spinach leaves on 4 salad plates. Top with alternating slices of pear, grapefruit and apple. Top with grapes and pecans. Drizzle with vinegar.
