Cabbage And Carrot Slaw

A dash of color and flavor makes this an eye-appealing salad.


cup (60 ml) cider vinegar
cup (60 ml) vegetable oil
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon grated onion
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups (340 g) shredded green cabbage
1 carrot, shredded
1 medium orange, peeled and cut into small chunks


Serves: 6


In a 1-quart (1-liter) nonstick saucepan, combine vinegar, oil, sugar, dry mustard, celery seed, onion and salt. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Cool to room temperature. Combine cabbage, carrot and orange in a large bowl. Pour dressing over; toss to coat.
